Revision as of 14:14, 22 February 2021

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

Current requests for increase in protection level

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

ECP: Persistent disruptive editing and edit warring by new accounts. The article was put under ECP by Mz7 some months ago, now it need ECP again. Wareon (talk) 14:25, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Wareon: does you have any role for edit the article? I don't see anything needs on ECP. This is actually an content dispute that involves edit warring by any users, which is don't sufficient to justify full protection due to low activity of edit warring, which it actually needs to be requested. 110.137.166.20 (talk) 14:47, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Not a content dispute. Non-ECP accounts are edit warring to repeat their rejected edits. Wareon (talk) 14:52, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the case of edit warring, you need to considering edit warring noticeboard to anyone who edit warring to restore their rejected edits, including non-ECP users. If they aren't so enough, discuss it on talk page or report that to WP:ANEW. I don't see any edit warring noticeboard regarding this. 110.137.166.20 (talk) 15:12, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Declined – No changes to the current protection level are required at this point in time. The current semi-protection is doing the job. There was one editor who was edit warring, but they have been blocked. MelanieN (talk) 01:01, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: BLP policy violations – IPs and new editors making persistent additions of different birth years, with no reliable source to any of them – e.g. [1], [2], [3], [4], [5] – these five dates were added within the past two days!. bonadea contributions talk 18:56, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing – Looking at edits over past couple of years, the article has been repeatedly disrupted by IP and new users, usually over the same general set of long-resolved issues. Should have pending changes protection limiting edits to extended confirmed users. Montanabw(talk) 19:53, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) I see one disruptive edit in 2021, and requests for three different types of protection (pending changes, semi-protection, and extended-confirmed protection). I don't see any reason anything needs to be done. power~enwiki (π, ν) 03:12, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for reduction in protection level

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Reason: The protection is not needed as the disruptive edits by unnecessarily reverting are done by an extended confirmed user. The disruptive edits(reverting) are [16] [17] [18]. These constant and complete revertings of contributions done by multiple users prevents the improvements done to the page. That particular user is alerted in the talk page of the article and hasn't yet provided evidence to his claims. Not blanket page protection but page protection from this particular user is the one needed. അദ്വൈതൻ (talk) 16:35, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's not an argument for unprotection, given the BLP issues FrancisSobieski123 (talk · contribs) introduced right before the ECP. If anything, that's an argument to escalate it to full-protection until a discussion has actually run its course. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 16:39, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Reverting contributions of multiple users citing an unreliability of a citation added by one user is injustice. Already the article lacks Neutral point of View(under the section Pastoral ministry and sub section love and narcotics jihad controversy ) that too on a living person, the reverting has undid my multiple contributions too, all with reliable sources that was to address this issue. That particular user's blanket reverting has done no improvement to the page. And that user who reverted my contributions hasn't yet provided evidence to his claim in the article's talk page when asked അദ്വൈതൻ (talk) 17:13, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're still making a case for escalating the protection, not downgrading it. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 17:29, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I presume you are saying about full protection because the user who is blatantly reverting is an extended confirmed+ user, correct? അദ്വൈതൻ (talk) 17:32, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Correct, and because this is a content dispute. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v threads critiques 17:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So what the solution apart from discussing in the article's talk page. As the particular user hasn't yet replied to substantiate its claims in the talk page. അദ്വൈതൻ (talk) 17:55, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This page is protected, potentially, with full intent to disuade any and all from protesting it's general falsehood. Long story short, "fascism" was originally a term to describe far leftists such as the Marxists. However, since it has been seen as derogatory and definitions have been somewhat, let's say fluid, over the last decade or so, "fascism" has convieniently been reassigned to the far-right. I, honestly feel that this is a gigantic con-game on the American public since they rely so heavily on the internet for their information. I feel as though wikipedia, as well as other sources, owes it to Americans to be honest in their publications, not deceitful. Please, I emplore you, take this seriously. Otherwise the death to democracy (actually, the U.S. is a Republic but who am I to squabble?) in the United States of America is in jeopardy. If you and other outlets continue to feed our youth and under or mis-educated the sort of trash that inspired me to plea to you, then we might as well sign our own death certificates of we're over the age of 34 and give up hope on anything that we held onto for our children. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:602:CC00:F2E:8535:784D:D199:699F (talk) 09:11, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Ideally, requests should be made on the article talk page rather than here.

    • Unless the talk page itself is protected, you may instead add the appropriate template among {{Edit protected}}, {{Edit template-protected}}, {{Edit extended-protected}}, or {{Edit semi-protected}} to the article's talk page if you would like to make a change rather than requesting it here. Doing so will automatically place the page in the appropriate category for the request to be reviewed.
    • Where requests are made due to the editor having a conflict of interest (COI; see Wikipedia:Suggestions for COI compliance), the {{Edit COI}} template should be used.
    • Requests to move move-protected pages should be made at Wikipedia:Requested moves, not here.
    • If the discussion page and the article are both protected preventing you from making an edit request, this page is the right place to make that request. Please see the top of this page for instructions on how to post requests.
    • This page is not for continuing or starting discussions regarding content should both an article and its discussion page be protected. Please make a request only if you have a specific edit you wish to make.

Create a level 3 header with a link to the article in question, then a {{pagelinks}} template and then the reason.
