== Information regarding District of Jashpur, Chhattisgarh State (India) ==

Hello Arjayjay.
I am new to editing on Wikipedia. I had edited an article related to Jashpur. I had copied the exact information regarding the current District Magistrate and places of interest from the official District Goverment info website. My edit was wiped by you and i do understand i must have violated Wikipedia policies. Anyways i request you to edit/change/update the name of the District Magistrate and tourism information from the page: (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jashpur_district). You can find latest factual information from : https://jashpur.nic.in/en/ and from https://cgstate.gov.in/ etc
It would be a pleasure for me and my students to learn from you.
Thank You. <!-- Template:Unsigned --><small class="autosigned">—&nbsp;Preceding [[Wikipedia:Signatures|unsigned]] comment added by [[User:Manas Gharami|Manas Gharami]] ([[User talk:Manas Gharami#top|talk]] • [[Special:Contributions/Manas Gharami|contribs]]) 18:48, 21 October 2020 (UTC)</small> <!--Autosigned by SineBot-->
:Hi [[User:Manas Gharami|Manas Gharami]] - firstly, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes <nowiki>( ~~~~ )</nowiki> which will add your signature and a timestamp<br>To explain the deletions - as explained on your user page, these were copyright violations, you copied the text from the website, which is not allowed, so much so that your edits were removed from the page history.<br>As for your request, I think the best way to learn is to try. == [[Battle of Dorylaeum (1147)]] ==

I rather think the IP editor 5.47.120.104 has crossed the line with his latest edit of the page. Quoting his edit summary:‎ "I'm sure you wouldn't write such things if the Germans had won and the sources told the exact number of losses. You are a European nationalist bastãrd. Fck you son of bıtch, fck wikipedia and fack the administrators of wikipedia". Interesting how it avoids the real spellings of the expletives. E-mails

You can use "Email this user" in the panel on the left, but I will probably reply on your talk page, or the article talk page, as discussions should be open and on the record.
I have experienced problems with e-mails not being delivered, so please leave me a message on this page if I have not replied within 48 hours.

Broadcasted

The Wiktionary definition of Broadcasted states the use is sometimes proscribed, so it should not be used. The word also appears on Wikipedia:Lists_of_common_misspellings/B

Broadcasted appears in some dictionaries, but others, e.g. Chambers state "Sorry, no entries for Broadcasted were found".
Broadcast appears in all dictionaries, and should be used as COMMONALITY - "Wikipedia tries to find words that are common to all varieties of English".

A September 2020 search for Broadcast gave over 210,000 uses, compared with a search for Broadcasted which gave just 81.
Of these 8i, 16 are redirects to "Broadcast" articles, 16 refer to a Canadian TV award and 5 relate to a 1924 cartoon. The rest are in quotations.

Table Trouble

Dear Arjayay - Can you look at the table I'm trying to create on my sandbox? Please give me a clue why it won't match up with the "good" table from the George Cukor article that I posted below it for comparison. Thank you in advance. --Lord Such&Such (talk) 16:12, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

At my wits end. Can you tell me, Arjayay, why the section headings on my Sandbox table (under construction) won't activate? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.--Lord Such&Such (talk) 16:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lord Such&Such - Assuming I have now fixed it - you should never put anything else on the section header line, you confuse the poor little thing - Arjayay (talk) 16:33, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for that. More trouble...please check the table at Mervyn LeRoy! The "Contributions (Uncredited)" table is showing up under "External Links". Can you tell me why? --Lord Such&Such (talk) 16:14, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lord Such&Such - "Good grief" said Snoopy - I think I've finally resolved the problems - please let me know if there are any remaining - briefly:-
  1. Sortable tables close with |} not |-}
  2. Section titles need to be before the table, not inside it (the table can have a title, as shown/explained at Help:Table#Sortable_tables but not a section header)
  3. Do not use level 1 section headers (one = each side)
  4. Do not include references in section titles (as stated above "you should never put anything else on the section header line, you confuse the poor little thing")
Best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 16:53, 2 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but it wasn't me!

Hi Arjayay, sorry but it wasn't me!!! Actually my pest little brother got hold of my password somehow, and tricked me. It's a lame excuse but that's how it was. I shall be more careful in the future (I have changed my pwd).

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Madhuri Dixit, you may be blocked from editing. - Arjayay (talk) 18:41, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi Polytope4d - did you know "My little brother did it" even has its own page? - Arjayay (talk) 19:17, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know about it. But the page is quite humorous.-Polytope4D (talk) 16:53, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks again for deleting the duplicate word I typed in my edit to this article. I was amused to see in the edit history that you corrected exactly the same type of mistake I made in the same article in August last year :-) Regards Davidelit (Talk) 14:34, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

From No-Simp JESUS

I am not vandalizing, I am showing factual and statistical evidence that has been proven multiple times. Look on Pew Research Center and you will find credible sources showing that my research is in fact credible. Please leave the Wadwani page alone, and I will handle this myself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by No-Simp Jesus (talkcontribs) 16:06, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Glyn School

Hi Arjayay,
You reverted my edit to Glyn School, replacing color with colour on the grounds that I had violated WP:ENGVAR. Unfortunately color is required syntax for the table used on that page - the table is illegible without it. I will therefore revert your change.
Best wishes Tillingbourne (talk) 20:27, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tillingbourne - my bad - apologies - Arjayay (talk) 09:44, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A new weatherbox for Kolkata

Arjayay, in a vast place, weather may vary. So, it is expected for a large megacity having more than one weatherbox.

Kolkata is the 3rd largest megacity in India, ranks 16 in the world. It is a big area.

The weatherbox given for Kolkata is of Alipore, south Kolkata. Dumdum is a city in north Kolkata. For Dumdum, NOAA source is available (for normals). For extremes, India Meteorological Department data is also available. So, I want to create an another weatherbox for Dumdum, which will represent north Kolkata. I can give you the sources, if you agree with me.

Images and such

This is rather eccentric request, but I am desperate to find a mentor to answer simple questions to the maze of Wiki Commons copyright issues, and specifically "Tags" to authorize images. My efforts involve ancient photos from silent and early sound films. Do you know of any editors who would provide some direction on these matters. No problem if this is "beyond your ken" but thank you anyway.

Example of my issue: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:The_Patsy_(1928)_silent_film_directed_by_King_Vidor.jpg&action=submit

Adding information on Sholavandan

Kind reference to the note you had just left in my talk page "Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sholavandan, without citing a reliable source." There already existed a statement on a notable philanthropist, Control Kaniappa Mudaliar. Sort of trying to add value,by correcting the years (British Raj not the 1950s decade): and substantiating with other local examples Anant (talk) 18:52, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Anant- I know that you did not start that statement, but you made three unsourced additions to it - hence my warning - Arjayay (talk) 18:55, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you have removed that entire statement, which was earlier unreferenced. Perhaps you could talk to the person who inserted that statement?Anant (talk) 19:07, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I could Anant, but it was added using an IPV6 which has only made that one edit, on 11 May 2020‎ - their IP address will have changed numerous times since then - even if they are still editing Wikipedia - Arjayay (talk) 19:17, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
