General information

PJIRC is an open source IRC client written in the form of a Java applet. It can be embedded in a web page and used on any web browser that supports the Java programming language.

Features

Unlike many another Java applets, PJIRC can also be run in application mode, without the need of either website or browser, though still requiring some form of Java Runtime Environment. It is also customizable through the use of plugins, including limited support for scripting using JavaScript.

Current status

The current development status is unclear. It hasn't been updated since 2005[1], and the website is currently off-line and pointing to a domain lander page. There has been a rumor that the development team is attempting to resurrect the site; however, no solid information backing this has been available.
