Liu Cigui (Chinese: 刘赐贵; born 18 September 1955) is a politician of the People's Republic of China. He is the Acting Governor and Deputy Communist Party Chief of Hainan province. His former positions include Director of the State Oceanic Administration and mayor of the cities of Xiamen and Longyan in Fujian province.[1][2][3]
Life and career
Liu Cigui was born on 18 September 1955 in Quanzhou's Hui'an County. In 1973, during the late Cultural Revolution, he worked as a rusticated youth (zhiqing) in Shaowu County's Hongdun Commune.[1][2][3]
Starting in October 1976, Liu worked at various levels of government in Fujian, first as the Communist Youth League secretary of Hongdun Commune and then rising to deputy Communist Party chief of Shaowu in 1983. He became the deputy party chief of Guangze County in February 1986 and party chief in October 1988.[2][3] In March 1993, Liu became the deputy secretary of the Communist Youth League of Fujian.
