Google Swiffy is a web-based tool developed by Google that converts SWF files to HTML5. Its main goal is to display Flash contents on devices that do not support Flash, such as iPhone, iPad, and Android Tablets. Its function is similar to Wallaby by Adobe, which converts FLA files to HTML5.

Supports

Google Swiffy currently supports a subset of SWF 10, ActionScript 2.0 and ActionScript 3.0.[1]

Development

The Google Swiffy Project was started on June 28, 2011. It was originally started by an engineering intern named Pieter Senster. He joined the "mobile advertising team" to search for solutions to display Flash content on devices that do not support Flash. Later he made a great progress and Google hired him and formed a team to start on the Swiffy project. The Product Manager of Google Swiffy is Marcel Gordon.[2]

Swiffy 5.0.0 was released on December 11th, 2012.
