  • 28 March - James Harrison Oliver is appointed governor of the United States Virgin Islands by Woodrow Wilson. Edwin Taylor Pollock is made acting governor before his arrival.
  • 31 March – The United States purchases the Danish West Indies which becomes the United States Virgin Islands.[1]
