Our colleagues in the USA, along with our partner ContinuEM are providing medical consultations to the first patients through Falck Mobile Care, our new healthcare at home solution in California. By offering medical consultations at home, we are making healthcare more affordable, efficient, and convenient. In the picture, you can see our amazing colleague Nancy, who is one of the patient caretakers driving out to help people in the comfort of their own homes🏡❤️ Another great initiative in the works is our first non-profit educational hub, Falck Health Institute. We hope to attract and offer new opportunities for young talents entering the healthcare field, while also advancing a more diverse workforce that resembles the communities we are a part of. As the Falck Health Institute prepares for its opening, our super engaged students in Falck Academy are being trained at the headquarters, getting ready to help people in need🚑 Our amazing frontliners play a crucial role, and our CEO Jakob Riis had the opportunity to ride along with them during his visit, experiencing firsthand their professionalism and dedication. 🚑 Quick access to psychological help after an accident can help bystanders 💙 ⏱️ From the time the emergency call is made until the ambulance arrives, relatives and other bystanders play a crucial role. However, this invaluable help can sometimes result in psychological challenges after the accident. To address this, Falck has developed and tested a new model where Falck paramedics facilitate direct contact with Falck crisis psychologists, ensuring bystanders have access to receive help and process their experiences. Our initiative was successfully tested in collaboration with Region Zealand in Denmark in the autumn of 2023, where ambulance paramedics distributed contact cards to bystanders. The results have been incredibly positive, confirming that even a few steps can make a significant difference for those who play an important role before the ambulance arrives🙌 🌟 After a successful trial period, Falck is excited to expand this initiative to interested partners and incorporate it into future ambulance contracts. At Falck, we are excited to welcome two talented exchange students from the University of Maastricht's Global Health program 🌍 Odhran Mallon from Ireland and Ieva Kersulyte from Lithuania will be spending the next two months with us in our Headquarter in Copenhagen to pursue their master's degree in Global Health. Odhran's project is centred around the utilisation of AI in Emergency Healthcare Services in low and middle-income countries through a Scoping Review. This aligns with our ambitions at Falck to incorporate AI into healthcare services. Ieva's project involves evaluating support programmes for the mental health of bystanders after medical emergencies. Her research includes a Literature Review and qualitative analysis, which directly ties into Falck's ongoing Project Lighthouse. We want to get closer to the communities we serve ❤️ That's why Falck in Colombia has just completed the first phase of our Health in Every Corner project 🌍 Led by Gorka Vigara de Otazu and supported by our colleagues from different departments, our team visited the beneficiary families in Medellin, Colombia. We were thrilled to fix leaks, dampness, enhance roofs, and facades - making their homes safer and more comfortable 🏠🔧 The Hincapié, Rendón, Jaramillo, and Velásquez families were incredibly grateful for the support they received through this project. Not only did they express their gratitude for the physical improvements, but they also acknowledged the value of the free subscription to our healthcare services. As part of the project, our dedicated doctor, Gladys González, conducted medical evaluations for each family member 🩺 Looking ahead, we're committed to continuing this project and reaching even more households in the future. Quality sleep is essential for our health and well-being 😴💤 Yet, many of us struggle with sleep issues, leaving us tossing and turning at night.   Sleep is crucial for maintaining physical and mental health. Adults aged 26-64 are recommended to sleep 7-9 hours per night, however sleep is often deprioritised. Insufficient sleep is linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and reduced cognitive function.   Additionally, poor sleep weakens the immune system, making us more vulnerable to illness and prolonging recovery time.
