I really loved this visual novel; a good love interest really makes or breaks romances, and I find well written yanderes sorely lacking and yanderes of my preferred type are even rarer, my type being sweet, a bit desperate, and somewhat manipulative. I'll be patiently anticipating the announcement of the game's full release and doing regular check ins on the dev's tumblr in the intervening time. :D

GOOD GODS THIS GAME IS SO GOOD. i love mychael sm y'all, his character is so interesting, like GO BBY MANIPULATE US IDK, and i love how simple yet complex he is in general. the 'you monster' ending got me clutching the spot above my heart like nah what have i done 😭 and the ending with mc's shadow or imprint next to their cat nearly got me tearing up.
the pacing was, imo, perfect. especially on the neutral ending, we get to see mc slowly build their trust and sympathy (even pity) towards him. and seeing how mychael reacts to this is also perfect. i mean, being isolated for, perhaps, years + his past lore that indicates previous interactions with his own kind/humans, developing an obssession towards someone who's shown you decency was portayed amazingly. like he even goes as far as to manipulate mc using his powers, just to make them stay.
idrk how to put my thoughts to words (eng isn't my first language 😭) but like he despises himself for seeing, being the monster that he sees himself as, but in order to make mc stay (the only one that sees him beyond his 'monstrous' self) he'd go as far as being the monster he believes he is (given that he's aware of what he's doing, as mentioned in the game).
+ the usage of the font and the font color for adding effect to the gamem urgh i love it.
+THE PART WHERE THE CHOICES WERE JUST NOT CHOICES?? ANYMROE?? LMAO?? like that part where it just turns purple and the game ultimately decides it for you?? immaculate.
+ the character movements/the cup. i love it, fomr the tiny ones (him leaning slightly forward) to the big ones (mf fr jumps at you). and the perpective of the cup, idk, it just makes the game more immersive.
i can't wait to see more of this! thank you for the hard work you've done!

Hi! To fix your problem after you first try to open it normally and it says "cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified," then click cancel. After you do that, click control and on the download, then select open and it should work!
I have never cried before playing a novel game BUT THIS. THIS WAS THE FIRST I ACTUALLY FELT BAD AND BALLED MY EYES OUT :(( Ending 2 was heart breaking, I hope when the full game comes out there is a good ending!

Hi! Apparently it's a common issue for some games when downloading using the itch app to have that error. Some users mention it works when downloading directly from the website, so maybe you can try that and let me know how it goes?

I am surprised how many people in the comments romanticize Michael's actions, although I understand that it is really difficult to resist him. BUT HE IS JUST PURE BLACK FLAG OMG. I really like how the author combines this in him with a cute and cozy style, but I won't break down, I'm sure there's something wrong with this guy!!!!! Got this game 4 months ago but never got the motivation to play it till today, so far only got one ending. I love the character so much, he's such a cutie😭 Kinda hoping they'll be a ending where it's all good and we stay or at least make sure it's all happy <3

I HAD to make and account for this. I love the game point blank can't wait for the full release multiple times I was on edge just from this cute mushroom man he freaks me the hell out in the best way. I love visual novels that are immersive like the sprits aren't stagnant or just bopping up and down! most of the scares for me happened just because he was getting CLOSER to me loved it and the fact i could hear he's movements and precisely tell what he was doing. like the sound of him walking away or knitting. I can’t see like pictures in my mind so imaging what's going on through subtle actions doesn't work are well so mad props for the sound design(?)
I'm just rambling TLDR. nice demo cant wait to see what's next.
ARGHHH LITERALLY THE MOST ADORABLE LITTLE GAME EVER!!!
Think this might be one of the few times i have genuinely gotten wrapped up and charmed by a yandere-themed game;usually I play em just for the scare factor. This guy, this silly silly little forest critter. I am HEAVILY biased in my oppinion, but i don't mind. I've been into cottagecore as a comfort recently and it is a fantasy to live in a magical forest like this. The character design! At first, the collection of features would seem a bit cluttered, particularly the blue blood, but it all ends up just blending so well together in the end. Let alone the fact that the MC is scarily relatable at times; all the more immersive.
But aside from my obvious gushing at the aesthetics and character appeal, I do want to recognise the less noticable ways in which this game shines. The world building is magical while staying masterfully grounded and realistic; ie the difficulties of living in the forest and whatnot. It's actually quite fascinating to see how much clear care went into properly fleshing out the world and setting, where most stories would just slap a "magic" label on it and call it a day.
I like the depth given for the more stereotypically "yandere" trope side of Mycheal; it's clever how, with the world building, we build up to actually somewhat have sympathy for him(I sure know I did). It would make sense how being alone for so long would develop obsessional tendencies in a person, and I'm intrigued to see how this will be further explored. Curious to see whether we continue along this somewhat sympathetic side, or if it will be ripped away from us in a clever twist ending(I allude to this later)
I also do enjoy the care taken for the less "favourable" endings that don't lead to the second day; sure, they're a little cliche, especially the You Monster ending, but I really do appreciate how, aside from some lightly cringey dialogue choices, they are still meaningful and build onto the world. Lightly tagging this on, gameplay wise, the jumpscare with the last choice(I think) was really clever and really showed how little choice you actually had in the situation. I also do enjoy the bold colouristic changed in the font to signify different choices. This leads me onto my favourite ending aside from the obvious path forward to the second day; the one where you lay down in the mushrooms once again.
I like the potential mystery and food for thought that this ending gives, well, aside from being absolutely heart-shattering with your shadow next to your cats(almost cried). With how obvious during the second day it was made that Mycheal knows about them, it makes me wonder what the connection is there. I have a high suspicion we may end up coming across the same patch with the shadow of our cat once he follows up on his promise to help look for our cat; and I'm excited to see how that interaction unfolds(personal theory: they are his own doing, ie they're related/how he catches his prey)
