🏭 Join us as we explore the fascinating world of the BASF Verbund! In our Verbund, we intelligently connect our production plants and technologies to efficiently use resources and leverage our expertise. There are currently six, soon to be seven, Verbund sites globally, supporting customers and partners in almost every country in the world. The Verbund system creates efficient value chains that extend from basic chemicals right through to high-value-added products. In addition, the by-products of one plant can be used as the starting materials of another. In this system, chemical processes consume less energy, produce higher product yields and conserve resources. In that manner, we save on raw materials and energy, minimize emissions, cut logistics costs and exploit synergies. A new research article recently published in the Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology delves into the investigation of the nutritional and functional roles of a combinational use of xylanase and β-glucanase (Natugrain® TS) on the intestinal health and growth of nursery pigs. The study, conducted in collaboration with North Carolina State University, demonstrated that the combination of xylanase and β-glucanase improved intestinal structure and the ileal digestibility of nutrients, ultimately leading to improved growth in nursery pigs. Phytase - good choice for economy and environment 🔝 By increasing the digestion efficiency of phosphorus and other nutrients, phytase boosts resource efficiency, reduces the required quantity of raw materials like minerals, protein and amino acids and minimizes the excretion of e. g. phosphorus and nitrogen. Therewith, phytase can save both resources and costs thereby reducing environmental impacts of livestock production! 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗻𝘇𝘆𝗺𝗲𝘀 ↗️ Utilizing "antinutritive" phytate by adding enzymes to the feed not only results in a fast and efficient release of phosphorus but also maximizes the release of phytate-bound minerals, amino acids, trace elements and energy. Based on large numbers of trials, our phytase Natuphos® E can be incorporated in linear optimization as a feed ingredient. This makes it possible to save the quantities of nutrients which Natuphos® E liberates from the phytate complex and reduce endogenous losses. 🎥 Watch the video to find out more!
