    How an actor assumes different looks and personalities is not only down to makeup and costumes. Often, they change their voice, mannerisms, and even their physique. Each role an actor plays undoubtedly leaves a mark on them, but can it also change who they are as a person? We can apply this same question to the process of altering a design system.     You are the best at being yourself. We asked Polish women between 30-60 about maturity and the changes that come with age. The results are presented in a report by research agency Herstories, which focuses on three areas: career and personal development, relationships and sexuality, and style and self-expression through clothing. The report was presented during a press meeting in Warsaw - the participants were singer and star of the Zalando campaign, Katarzyna Nosowska, and researcher & creator of the report, Marta Majchrzak, who talked about maturity from their perspective and experiences. The study was inspired by the Zalando campaign of the same name, encouraging all people to celebrate maturity as a time of liberation from the expectations of others, both in fashion and in life. It may seem that mature age is less joyful and fulfilling than youth. Nothing could be further from the truth. For Polish women, maturity means newfound freedom, confidence in their choices and joy. Already in their thirties, women across the country notice that age has a negative impact on their chances in the labour market. Their own experiences and the observations of their colleagues often teach them that professional development becomes more difficult with age. Daniel Rogiński, General Manager CEE, shares, “At Zalando, we believe that fashion allows you to express your true self. "You are the best at being yourself." is not only the name of the report, but also a message we strongly identify with as a company. Through the report and the involvement of the star, Katarzyna Nosowska, we want to create a platform for freeing up the discussion - from often damaging societal expectations of what is and is not appropriate, and giving space to simply be yourself. The knowledge gained will allow us to continue to address important social issues in Poland.” HerStories' research for Zalando supports the company's commitment to inclusivity.     The last 16 years of my life have been deeply intertwined with growing Zalando, first in Berlin, then in Germany, and then across Europe.  I have personally experienced how important the EU’s commitment to free trade, freedom of movement, and shared standards are to businesses of all sizes across the continent. However, the European Union is more than just a common market, and I strongly believe in the common principles and values that the EU aims to support: freedom, democracy, equality and the rule of law, promoting peace and stability. So just like we’re proud of our Berlin roots, we’re a proudly European company. Of course, Europe and the European Union have their imperfections. But what’s great is that as a company, as a community, and, most importantly, as individuals, we have the opportunity to help shape its future. Looking across the globe, it’s clear we cannot take democracy for granted. It depends on our support. Participation in the democratic process is both a privilege and a responsibility.
