IPC Athletes' Council elections 🗳️ A record 26 candidates have been nominated for election during the Paris 2024 #Paralympics to fill six summer representative roles. Of the 26 candidates, 14 are male, 12 female and 22 are actively competing athletes. Candidates span 12 sports and four continents. Strengthening the Paralympic Movement Sixty-nine participants from 12 countries in Africa took part in a Regional Sport Training event in Marrakesh, Morocco, in April. Walk the Talk. “Improving the health of every person on this planet through physical activity, and in particular Para sport, is something the IPC is extremely passionate about," International Paralympic Committee President Andrew Parsons said. Parsons joined World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for a special Walk the Talk event ahead of the 77th World Health Assembly.
