I have a Garmin watch and the quality of the data, ease of use, comfort, and long battery life are well worth the extra expense for all of my activities. But if GPS tracking isn't needed, don't pay the extra cost. If the monitors are for use on patients - I've done studies using fitness trackers on cancer patients - then ease of use, long battery life, and data transfer are VERY important. The opportunity to help improve outcomes using remote monitoring is outstanding, but human beings are finicky users of technology. Easy is better.
