The Minority Business Conference, Florida's premier event for growth-oriented minority businesses, connects entrepreneurs with buyers and decision-makers. Hosted by the Florida State Minority Supplier Development Council, it attracts business leaders from across the state and nation.
This year's theme is "Connect. Collaborate. Succeed."
The conference features a motivational keynote speaker, business matchmaker appointments, workshops, industry sessions, MasterClasses, and more.
A survey of 2,516 job candidates by Criteria found the biggest mistake an employer can make when interviewing a job candidate is asking inappropriate or personal questions — with 64% of job candidates agreeing. “People asking inappropriate questions is just a clear example that having an unstructured format leads to problems,” Millet said.

According to a recent Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) article, promotions without raises, known as "dry promotions," are becoming increasingly common. While they can enhance an employee's resume, they also carry the risk of creating distrust if not handled transparently.
Employees may appreciate the recognition and added responsibilities, but some might feel undervalued and seek better opportunities elsewhere. To mitigate these risks, HR leaders should communicate openly and use tools like surveys and stay interviews to understand employee sentiments.
Ineffective handling of dry promotions can lead to negative consequences and highlights the importance of HR involvement in planning and communication.
