Thank you for coming to see us, Susan! Pura Vida! 🌱

My recent trip to Costa Rica was wonderful in many ways, but as a marketing professional and coffee lover the Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffee Farm was probably my favorite stop. The branding and customer experience was completely on point. Familiar and consistent to the Starbucks standard, yet authentic to the location with lots of creative touches. And you just can’t beat sipping coffee with a waterfall view! I accidentally booked a Spanish language tour and they were able put us with another group the same day. The tour was so informative and gave me a new appreciation for the entire process. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting #CostaRica. To ensure a sustainable future of coffee for farmers and farming communities, Starbucks recently announced the expansion of our network of coffee innovation farms with four new farms across Africa, Asia and Latin America in the coming years to continue global agronomy innovation. "This network of four new farms will enable direct research on varietals and farming practices in different critical coffee-growing geographies around the globe - helping us work with farmers to mitigate the impact of climate change on the coffee supply," Laxman Narasimhan said. 📸 :Laxman Narasimhan with Sara Bogantes and Victor Trejos, Hacienda Alsacia. Executive Vice President-Global Coffee & Sustainability at Starbucks Coffee Company, Non-profit Board Member, Passionate about people and the planet
Today, we held our inaugural Promises Day at Starbucks. It was a gathering to share the impact we are making when we are at our best. There is always more work to be done, but I am proud of our efforts, especially around our commitment to the environment and to the farmers who grow the beautiful coffee we’re fortunate to serve to customers every day around the world. During the event, we announced the first ever Global Barista Championship which will be hosted at Hacienda Alsacia Starbucks Coffee Farm. For the first time in the company’s 53-year history, we will bring together Starbucks baristas from around the world to compete and showcase their coffee passion and expertise. The incredible energy and commitment to craft at each stage of this year’s regional competitions has been so inspiring – we can’t wait to see what they bring to the global competition in 2025! https://lnkd.in/gvNWP6i8

When we take care of people, we take care of the planet. From donating 100M disease-resistant coffee trees by 2025 to help farmers and their communities, to committing to reduce our landfill waste by 50 percent by 2030. Our vision for the future is to become resource positive—giving back more than we take from the planet. And we know we can’t do it alone. It takes all of us. #HaciendaAlsacia #Starbucks #EarthDay
