We’re thrilled to announce the recipients of the Wave x Shorty Awards Elevate Creatives Fund, which was designed to help creators and creative entrepreneurs break the Internet, not the bank. Even though creators are one of the fastest-growing segments of small business, their needs are often overlooked. Wave wants to help change that. We reviewed entries from over 500 applicants, all doing incredible work that will bring meaningful social and cultural impact to their communities. In fact, there were so many great applicants that Wave and the Shorty Awards decided to expand the fund from $100,000 to $120,000 USD to allow for a sixth worthy recipient. Today, we are honoured to announce the six creators who will each receive a $20,000 USD grant, along with complementary accounting coaching from Wave’s in-house advisors. These six recipients are an exciting and diverse group of creatives and creators who are endeavouring to change the world. From elevating disability pride, to demystifying the climate crisis, to making mental wellbeing accessible and culturally relevant, they are an inspiring representation of the small business community we serve, and we cannot wait to see what they do next! https://lnkd.in/gJv-zi4G

Payroll can be a major growth hurdle for small businesses due to its complexity. With thousands of jurisdictions in the U.S. alone, each with their own reporting requirements for taxes and remittances, running a compliant payroll system is easily one of the biggest challenges facing small business employers today. This is why we're proud to be partnering with Check to offer our customers an enhanced payroll offering across all 50 U.S. states that reduces administrative headaches for our customers, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and speed in the process. https://lnkd.in/e8iR68SP

We're so proud of the Wavers who've assembled a team to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year on February 24th, organized by the bluesea foundation. CNOY participants will walk 2km or 5km to raise funds for local charities in 166 communities across Canada to support those experiencing "hurt, hunger, or homelessness"— it's an opportunity to make a real impact in our local communities. Wave’s team will be joining the Leslieville contingent, raising money for Red Door: Family Shelter. If you'd like to get involved, visit Wave’s team page to make a donation! 💙 https://lnkd.in/guRTfTS2
