Reddit is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented User Data Policy Senior Specialist to support Reddit’s Trust & Safety Policy (TSP) team. TSP focuses on a variety of trust and safety areas, with a particular emphasis on protecting the expression rights and private information of communities and users across Reddit through strategic solutions that balance defensible risk. Within TSP, the User Data Policy team crafts strategies, policies, and workflows necessary to handle global legal requests for user account information, data protection requests, and various child safety initiatives.

This role will primarily be focused on processing U.S. and global law enforcement and government requests for account information, supporting distributed teammates around the world, and protecting user rights, including privacy and due process. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Review and process legal requests for user information from U.S. and global law enforcement and government agencies 
  • Participate in the Trust & Safety Policy on-call rotation, which reviews and processes Emergency Disclosure Requests involving law enforcement on a 24x7 basis
  • Develop and update internal processes and workflows to mitigate legal risk and enhance effectiveness 
  • Manage internal escalations and educate partner teams on our policies and procedures
  • Identify and proactively communicate trends in order to inform decisions on policy and workflow development
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, Anti-Evil Operations, Community, and Engineering teams in order to efficiently carry out job responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and identify bugs or user-related issues and work with our stakeholders to seek resolutions or fixes while mitigating risk

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years relevant work experience, specifically handling legal requests for user information from U.S. law enforcement and/or government agencies. 
  • Critical thinker who creates tailored solutions to a wide range of challenges
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter who thrives in unstructured environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently
  • Additional non-English language proficiency a strong plus

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:
$140,800$197,100 USD
