As EPM my role includes, but is not limited to: Leading Programs, AV's Career Network, and our Job Coaching Services. I also speak/consult to ASD in the workplace, both for community; and as a member of it.

Only a few days left until our June Career Network meeting! Don't miss out on what I feel may be a very refreshing discussion on Disclosure/Taking Off the Mask.

Are you eager to attend our Autism At Work Event, but will be at work? Well here is something to consider, for tomorrow, and future events. As we move towards a more inclusive society, many employers are recognizing the value of employing individuals from the autistic community.  However, they may be unsure of how to effectively integrate these individuals into their workforce. Employers can encourage their teams to attend events like these as part of their professional development initiatives. By participating during work hours, employees can gain firsthand knowledge about autism, learn strategies for creating inclusive environments, and develop skills for working effectively with neurodiverse colleagues. As an employee, you also have the power to initiate discussions with your manager or HR department about the importance of attending events focused on diversity and inclusion, particularly those centered around neurodiversity. Highlighting the benefits of gaining insights into autism and learning strategies for creating inclusive environments can be a compelling argument. By framing your request within the context of your company's commitment to diversity and inclusion metrics, you can demonstrate how attending such events aligns with organizational goals. Emphasize the potential positive impact on team dynamics, productivity, and overall workplace culture. Remember, advocating for your professional development in this area not only benefits you but also contributes to a more inclusive and supportive environment for all employees. So, don't hesitate to speak up and seize the opportunity to be part of the change you want to see in your workplace! In-person registrations close at 9:30 am tomorrow Register now: https://lnkd.in/g2Sx3QYC

What an immense privilege it is to be involved in this transformative program! My heart swells with pride seeing the boundless support and dedication ANZ pours into Aspergers Victoria Incorporated. As the leader of the Teens Program for AV, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and excitement for our collaboration tomorrow at the Autism at Work Panel Event. This cause is deeply personal to me, being lived experienced and not having these supports myself, I'm fueled by these experiences, and it gives me a burning passion to champion these supports. Hand in hand with such incredible partners like ANZ. Together, we're not just able to make a difference; we are able to lead by example. I too would like to give a shout out and personal thanks to Andrew Baird Verity Thornton and all the "buddies" of our teens, who have volunteered over the last 3 years, this program, this experience would not have been the same without you. Let's continue this journey with unwavering commitment and joy! Register for our Autism At Work Event via the link below https://lnkd.in/garuh5qx #DiversityAndInclusion #AutismAtWork #ANZ

For the past three years we’ve partnered with Aspergers Victoria Incorporated to run the Teens Work KnowHow Program, helping autistic and other neurodivergent secondary students gain valuable job readiness skills and hands-on experience.   A couple weeks ago, we hosted seven students at our Headquarters in Melbourne. As well as getting behind-the-scenes insights into how different parts of the bank operate and the low-down on some of our history, students put their new skills into practice by completing a tangible project.   In our Data – Deposits Products team and under the guidance of work experience host Kartik Nandakumar, Kodi and another student co-developed a product concept for helping people lend money to friends – “Friends with interest”. Sitting in on the presentations, we can see our hosts get as much out of the program as the students do.   #futuretalent   Jacob Kness, Leslie Clements, Andrew Baird, Verity Thornton
