TeamReach – Your Team App 4+

Great team app!

This app is great for letting team members know when group play is scheduled and when using the calendar function, everyone can see who will be there. Adding “events” to the calendar is quick and easy. Our pickleball group used to message each other on their phones all day trying to see who was playing that day, and it was aggravating getting all those text messages all the time. This app has made it so much more organized and everyone can see for themselves who will be playing.

An additional feature that would be helpful is a way for administrators to access emergency contact information, address, phone, health issues, etc. should the need arise. Playing with different age groups (some in their 80’s) creates a need for this information- just in case- and would be great to have handy within the app instead of having to keep up with a separate document or database/app.

Just a few adds would make this perfect!

Overall very happy with TeamReach. Been using for 1.5 years. Just a few additional features would take this over the top. Suggestions: -Pin a message to the top of the feed!! This is the biggest miss for me on a team communication app. I need to be able to keep the most important info at the top while still being able to post other things. My poll or reminder for game day goes out days in advance; that needs to be able to stay at the top all week long even after I post a practice agenda for each day. -Direct messages separate. Not a huge deal for us, as we do very little direct messaging, but it would be a nice feature. -Ad removal for team. I would gladly pay a larger amount to remove ads for the entirety of each team I am admin for and not just my device. We started with TeamReach because it had no ads and we want to stay for the preferred features. Please keep the ads away! Favorite features: -Cross-posting calendar events from one group to another. I keep separate parent and player groups for the same team and this feature is key for posting the same event in both places. I don’t want to risk missing a detail or having different info from one group to another. -Compact feed view. I know what group I’m in, so other apps that put a team header above every post are wasting my space.

Underdeveloped one-trick-pony

The app is very undeveloped compared to other platforms. There aren’t many admin controls nor do end users have many options. For example, there is no way to block an individual user. Someone regularly spams multiple groups with corny memes daily. Which means I get notifications 6 times for the same corny meme. I could leave the group or turn off notifications for those groups, but that defeats the purpose of the app. Another annoyance is that the direct messages do not go to a separate inbox. Instead it appears visually like it’s just another post among the normal posts/threads with a label that says “direct message.” It’s very easy to miss that the message you’re seeing is actually a direct message because it is not very differentiated aesthetically. Sending DMs to a separate inbox would be far better. Also, there is no desktop version of the app so you are stuck using a mobile device. Unfortunately, Albuquerque’s pickleball scene has decided on this platform as their app of choice, so I’m stuck using it so we can get notified of cancellations, meetups, tournaments, etc. Facebook, WhatsApp, or most any other social media app would be far better to use. Heck, some groups have resorted to text threads as their preferred method of communication. That says something.
