Foveated rendering

I loved this app on the Quest Pro. However, I can’t get past the foveated rendering, which blurs the screen where your eyes are not looking. Given the low refresh rates, this feature isn’t required for screen viewing. I hope that Unity allows FR to be turned off in the near future, and then I’ll go back to this app!

Thanks for taking the time to share with us your experience! We're aware of some screen shimmering. This is due to our inability to turn off Foveated Rendering (since we're an immersive app). We've passed along this feedback to Unity and are hopeful for a resolution at some point.

Shimmering text + monitor limitations

I’ve been a fan of Immersed for a long time, and am even a backer of their upcoming Visor product, but they have really dropped the ball lately. The service no longer works if you have more than one physical monitor attached. There is no reason why a person should have to unplug or turn off monitors to make a Remote Desktop app work. They claim that they can’t be bothered to solve this “technical issue” that countless other products have managed to handle just fine and that this only impacts 5% of their users. Sorry, but your metrics need some work. Not everybody is using a laptop disconnected from everything else.

The worst part is the attitude from the company this isn’t an issue and that maybe the many people complaining about this issue should not be customers anymore.

That issue aside, the screens are distracting to work with due to the “shimmering” in the foveated parts of the display. Even in the focused areas, though, small text can be difficult to read. Placing screens is also a challenge since there is no option to snap to grid or use helpers to place the displays. Even the slightest turn of your wrist causes the display to quickly rotate horizontally and vertically. Lastly, the control to adjust the screen curvature doesn’t seem to be working reliably. Nothing I’ve done has let me actually target and move the slider.

I really hope Immersed lets go of some of their attitude and gets back to building a fantastic service.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience, Adam!

Continuing support for multiple physical monitors created complexities in advancing our screen management system. Tasks like enhancing "screen layout save/restore," maintaining persistent screen layouts, and other features became challenging while accommodating multiple physical monitors.

We understand that some users integrate Immersed alongside their existing multi-monitor setups. However, the decision to transition away from this architecture was made to enable us to evolve and develop a more efficient system.

Very disappointing first run

Very disappointed with first version of software was looking forward to using this application on the Vision Pro since it worked so well on other headsets, but it seems like this application has been artificially limited to produce a user experience less than an ideal compared to other headsets windows are very buggy not able to use curve controls for windows and the app seems to crash if you try to manipulate a window also with the application agent now deprecating support for multiple physical monitors. It makes using this application with a desktop computer very cumbersome. I hope the developers will be able to devote the same resources to the Vision Pro version of their application as they have for the other headsets both on the market and coming soon

Developer Response ,

Hey thanks so much for sharing your feedback! We're limited on what we can do since we're still in the early innings of visionOS and Unity working well together but hopeful for what's to come. We've recently pushed a new update that should fix some of the bugs you mentioned.
