The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) is undertaking a project to reopen the station, which last served passengers in 1979. Upon its grand reopening, Franklin Square will serve passenger traffic on the DRPA’s Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO) Speedline, a rapid transit system that runs from Center City Philadelphia to Lindenwold, NJ. Funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), the project features a variety of upgrades to the station’s infrastructure and systems, as well as a new headhouse with a green roof and green wall. Under Hill’s eighth consecutive project management oversight (PMO) task order contract with the FTA, our team is providing PMO services to overcome management and technical challenges and promote project delivery in line with FTA requirements. The project is on track to reach substantial completion by the end of 2024 within budget. Kudos to the Hill team in Egypt, who received Amwal Al Ghad’s Top Achievers Award for 2023 at the organization’s ninth-annual awards ceremony held on June 3 in Cairo. Hill's U.S. Federal practice is delivering for our clients. Luis Espinosa, who was recently promoted to Senior Director of Projects, helped the U.S. General Services Administration realize the design-build reimagining of the Otay Mesa Land Port of Entry (LPOE) in San Diego, the busiest commercial port in California. Under Luis' leadership, Hill helped expand and modernize the federal buildings by providing construction management services. The project was ultimately awarded the Special Merit Award for its community impact by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) San Diego Chapter. Today, Luis is overseeing the modernization of Building 48 at the Denver Federal Center, also for GSA. Hill is providing construction management services on this project—one of the most sustainable assignments in the entire Federal portfolio. We are proud to announce that the U.S. GSA has selected Hill to help deliver the plaza replacement at the Carl B. Stokes U.S. Courthouse in Cleveland, OH.
